My Aged Care
For most people, growing older can mean there are times when you may realise you need help, or you may be caring for a friend or family member who needs help to maintain their independence.
The Australian Government subsidises many different types of aged care services to help older Australians maintain their independence. www.agedcare.gov.au
And Guide Dogs SA/NT has a number of programs that you can access as part of the government-subsidised aged care services.
For example, as part of our Hearing Services programs we offer Hearing Support Friendship Groups across metropolitan and regional South Australia.
The Hearing Support Friendship Groups provide:
- A supportive environment for participants to share their information and experiences
- Relevant information to people living with a hearing loss and their communication partners
- Links to relevant community organisations and service providers
- Peer support networks for participants within their local community
