It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Guide Dogs SA/NT with our Music Appreciation, Transition and Carers groups getting together today for a festive sing-along.

A big thank you to the Little Para Singers for the beautiful music and crowd favourites such as Australian Jingle Bells, Little Drummer Boy and Away in a Manager.

Throwback Thursday celebrating Guide Dogs SA/NT 60th anniversary. The overwhelming benefit of a Guide Dog is the freedom it affords a person who has vision loss, enabling them to enjoy many experiences that would otherwise be difficult or impossible. Today we trumpet a strange but true story about a woman, a Guide Dog, the beach and a rather large problem.

Magic of pageant alive for all

Santa has made it to Adelaide via the Credit Union Christmas Pageant to start the Festive Season!

And the magic, atmosphere, colour and spectacle were all accessible to our special Guide Dogs SA/NT and Royal Society for the Blind guests this morning in Wakefield Street where the pageant was audio described by Access2Arts.

Gold performance from Des and Marie

November 17th, 2017

It’s gold! Congratulations to Des Warner and Marie Ryan for their amazing medal-winning performance for 10 pin bowling at the recent Master Games in Tasmania.

Both are outstanding blind 10 pin bowlers and keen members of the Blind & Vision Impaired Ten Pin Bowling team (BVit). They both scored the top medals in their age group competing against sighted players, with Marie playing 33 games over five days.

The Cornerstone To All That We Are

Celebrating Guide Dogs SA/NT 60th anniversary. The cornerstone of all that we are is of course the Guide Dog and the evolution of its role as companion and liberator for people with vision loss. We have grown and learned from them and have refined our program to produce the best of the best.
